I bought some different Charrette’s when I drove down to Spain some weeks ago.
The brand from the French Overseas Department Reunion was founded together by the three existing distilleries in 1972.
This one is a Traditional rum based on molasses and works well neat. I’ve tried to found out the aging time, but have failed.
But I believe it’s around 6yo.
From nose via mouth, palate to the quite long finish it’s woody, fruity and cane juice sweet. I can also recognize some vanilla and chocolate.
During the end of the finish the banana taste, that dominates in the other Charrette’s, comes through.
If I compare it with the other three it’s the best one.
