This one starts out a bit heavy on the alcohol, including in the nose. But the finish is rich with balanced syrup, sweetness, oak, a touch of vanilla, and a perfect low intensity burn. Not super duper complex, and you have to down it to get to the good part, but it’s very sippable.

Quite smooth rum, easy to drink with cola. Maybe a bit too smooth

Rum tendente al dolce e poco struttura. Colore chiaro che ricorda il giallo albicocca.

I wasn't expecting much from this one given its screw top and average reviews at best; but I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised.
Very smooth with a somewhat green grape taste; very dry. The aftertaste after a while starts to remind me of a white wine; not my favourite thing in the world.
Although;?at $40 for a litre at duty free in Jamaica, well worth the money.
I would recommend to anyone who likes to sip dry rum.

Rhum qui manque de goût.
Je l'ai bu sec mais il serait meilleur en cuba libre.

Country of origin and distillery: Dominican Republic, distillery of Brugal family in Puerto Plata, established in 1888
Ageing: one part blended rums aged up 3 to 8 years in white American oak ex-bourbon casks; second part aged up 2 to 3 years in ex-sherry Pedro Ximenez casks

Appearance: clear, dark amber
Aroma: vanilla-cocoa smell with hint of fruits and touch of alcohol
Palate: smooth start of vanilla-cocoa, dry rum with subtle sweetness of dried and caramelized fruits, nice warm and long end finish aftertaste

How to enjoy the rum: it is authentic Caribbean rum; dry, subtle sweet and well balanced nice warm rum for those, who like younger gold rums; suitable as base for cocktails, especially for classic Daiquiri

I don't really like it strainght up or on ice. I think is't more a rum to drink with coke or perrier.
