This S.B.S bottling is for the Rum Depot in Germany and comes from the Travelers Distillery in Belize. The rum produced in 2014 in the single column style was allowed to be stored in former bourbon barrels for 7 years and was bottled with a respectable cask strength of 67.2% alcohol. There are 239 bottles of the limited single cask bottling.

At the first time i tasted the rum at full cask strength and I have to say that the rum is very closed in the nose and on the palate. The rum also has such a bite that I didn't really like drinking and tasting it. A few drops of water upgraded the rum a lot for me, so I also did the rating in the diluted state.

On the nose, the rum shows a nice intense spice with lots of caramel, roasted aromas, vanilla, a nice nutty note, orange peel and wood. Not exciting, but the caramel and toasty flavors work very well together. The spice continues very clearly on the palate. Again caramel with clear barrel influence. Woody with a peppery-smoky spiciness and dried fruits. Plus vanilla and mocha. The whole thing is pleasantly creamy and the finish is bitter. Dark chocolate, smoke and pepper again. The rum ends dry and woody.

A rum that I like without impressing me. He definitely needs some water, otherwise he's a bit too stressful for me. In Cask Strength the flavors are not worth the adventure and struggle. Diluted it is a nice sipper with great spice flavors.

The rum has the typically note of Belize and is very powerful.
If you drink it, you have an explosion of taste:
vanilla, dried fruits, chocolate and woody notes
The taste is very long lasting on the palate.
