I had this one as a sample before, and it stood out. I recall the texture to be a bit too thin, but it offers a much, much more enjoyable sensorial experience compared to most other "Philippine" rum.

One of the first releases of Luisita, fully matured in ex-bourbon casks. Sour apples, cooked pineapple, a hint of dried coconut and fresh vanilla. On the palate the bourbon influence becomes more obvious, with light bourbon notes and a good balance of oak and fruit. The heat tells you that it's high proof, but you'd be forgiven to think that it's around the 100-proof range. Finishes like a good high-proof whisky.
I hope their entry into the market will change the way people appreciate and valuate locally-made rums. Excited at what else Luisita can bring to the table!
