Coming across this rum in the Duty Free area, I didn't expect much from it. I was pleasantly surprised when sherry notes did come through. The mouthfeel can be better but at least it is not flat. wood spice will linger for a short time before dissipating. Not bad!
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Could use a bit less sweetness and a bit more transparency. Still, it's an okay daily sipper.

Nose: a coarse, but not abrasive, texture comes to mind. Plantains cooked in brown sugar, maple syrup, and a waft of watercolor paint sets. The sweetness is corralled by chili powder, oak, uncooked rice, and nutmeg. Time in the glass leads to curry and a very slight hint of cottage cheese.
Palate: sweet, but a little under the cloying kind, and full-bodied. Deep red berries. Still, brown sugar. Toffee-flavored gum. Accents of mint and dried grass. A spicy sensation on the tongue.
Finish: Medium-length. Oak and vanilla. A little drying.
