As a local, I desperately wanted to enjoy this product. However, like most craft products in my experience, a certain alcoholic bitterness reigns supreme. Maybe it’s the honey base but a warm, slightly unpleasant sweetness covers the palate, and a hint of weak oak lingers on the finish. The only caveat to my review would be that if you enjoy this style of product, it’ll definitely hold up better than it did to my palate. Not terrible; there are plenty of worse products on the market, although they tend to come with a friendlier price tag. If you’ve tried other Devine Distillery products, or other Honey Rums, I’d recommend giving this one a try as well for a better comparison.
