A very good and tasty rum, honest fifteen-year aging has done its positive work.

I found out about this just recently. Had not had the heavily dosed Guyanese rums in over 20 years. Woody and smoky. Competes with Ron del Barrilito 4 star, which costs 5-6x as much!

strange smell when opened, rather dry I thought it would be a little sweeter and more fragrant, a day after opening it improved a lot

Nicely balanced with good complexity. I personally like a little more clarity but itโ€™s still a delightful rum.

Came across a gift set that included the El Dorado 15 plus the 21 year and 12 year. I was no stranger to the 12 but eager to try the 15 and 21. I was so impressed with this rum and will look forward to my next opportunity to add this to my bar.

This is a very fine rum. I had to five it 7 or 8, but personally I'm not a big fan of the heavy tobacco taste, so a 7 for me. Still very drinkable

The nose is intensely sweet, reminiscent of various candies, which initially raised some concern as I typically don't favor such flavors. However, on the palate, it transforms into a richer combination of dark coffee and caramel notes, resulting in a very enjoyable experience. Adding a few drops of water seems to exacerbate the sweetness, possibly due to its already modest 40% (ABV).

I love the original and did not think it could get better and they did it.
The 15 year old is the Rum I use to introduce people to "aged" rum and for the price there is nothing in its class.

Yeah, you can feel the sugar right away, but he has anyway a complex, full aroma, which let you travel. still, not the very top ones, but excellent

Wow! Almost gave this 10 points. Sweet, without being sweetened, complex flavours from the long aging in barrels (the usual suspects like raisins, almonds, vanilla etc.).The only flaw is that is has a little hint of "dark" tones to it (tobacco?) that was a bit harsh for my taste. And the price is a bit to much for my budget. This is mainly a sipper, i guess. But I used it mainly for cocktails, it mixed perfectly with almost everything, except in hot beverages like coffee and hot cocoa.
