The rum Artesanal Trinidad is a rum of the TDL distillery and was distilled in May 2002 and then bottled in July 2021 as a single cask with 63.4% alcohol in cask strength. The rum produced in the Column Still is bottled without additives or filtration.
In the nose, the rum is a wonderful example of the TDL Style. Dirty, earthy notes with tropical fruit. Menthol, mint and some leather, spicy wood notes, burnt vanilla and also some rubber swing along. On the palate, the almost 63% show their full power. The rum should not be underestimated. The rum remains dirty with a spicy mint note. Roasted sugar. Dark fruit. Some leather and rubber. The finish is woodier. Bitter substances are added. Menthol and a lot of heat accompany a complex exit that subsides only a little too early.
An excellent Trinidad rum, which is very tasty and with a full-body. For 80€ a lot of rum, which can also be drunk with a little water. In direct comparison with the RA Trinidad 2001 it falls off a bit. But despite that it is another great rum from Artesanal and who likes TDL is just right here. Unfortunately very limited.

In der Nase ist der Rum ein wunderbares Beispiel für den TDL Still. Schwer kommen dreckige, erdige Noten mit tropischer Frucht. Menthol, Minze und etwas Leder, würzige Holznoten, gebrannte Vanille und auch etwas Gummi schwingen mit. Am Gaumen zeigen die knapp 63% ihre volle Power. Der Rum sollte nicht unterschätzt werden. Der Rum bleibt dreckig mit einer würzigen Minznote. Gerösteter Zucker. Dunkle Frucht. Etwas Leder und Gummi. Der Abgang ist holziger. Bitterstoffe kommen dazu. Menthol und viel Wärme begleiten einen komplexen Abgang der nur etwas zu früh abklingt.
Ein hervorragender Trinidad Rum, welcher sehr lecker ist und vollmundig überzeugt. Für 80 Euro eine Menge Rum, der auch mit etwas Wasser getrunken werden kann. Im direkten Vergleich mit dem RA Trinidad 2001 fällt er etwas ab. Aber trotz allem ein weiterer toller Rum von Artesanal und wer TDL mag ist hier genau richtig. Leider stark limitiert.
