The Rumclub Privat Selection Edition 18 Treasure Cask Jamaica is a rum of the Hampden Distillerie with the Mark HLCF. Distilled in pot still in 1992, the rum was allowed to be stored in bourbon barrels for 29 years and was bottled in barrel strength of 58.6% alcohol as a single cask in 359 50cl bottles.
The nose is a revelation and is classic Hampden. The ester content of the HLCF is on point and the long storage makes the rum rich and soft. There are tropical fruits, overripe fermented banana, honey, vanilla and roasted oak. A high level of complexity has been achieved here. On the palate, the alcohol is perfectly integrated. The rum is full-bodied and creamy. In addition to the ester, a lot of wood with pleasant roasted aromas, tropical fruits, some spice and it becomes warmer and warmer. The finish is long and is accompanied by wood notes, spicy roasted aromas and esters.
This rum has become very soft and rounded due to the long storage. Here everything is in its place and to me the rum does not seem over stored. The ester content is completely sufficient and for me one of the best Hampden I have drunk so far. The price of 250 Euros is unfortunately quite reasonable here. A really great rum.

Die Nase ist eine Offenbarung und ist klassisch Hampden. Der Ester Gehalt des HLCFs ist auf den Punkt und die lange Lagerung macht den Rum reichhaltig und weich. Es gibt tropische Früchte, überreife vergorene Banane, Honig, Vanille und gebrannte Eiche. Hier ist ein hohes Level an Komplexität erreicht. Am Gaumen ist der Alkohol perfekt eingebunden. Der Rum ist vollmundig und cremig. Neben dem Ester kommt viel Holz mit angenehmen Röstaromen, tropischen Früchten, etwas Würze und er wird zum Abgang immer wärmer. Der Abgang ist lang und wird von Holznoten, würzigen Röstaromen und Ester begleitet.
Dieser Rum ist durch die lange Lagerung sehr weich und abgerundet geworden. Hier ist alles an seinem Platz und auf mich wirkt der Rum nicht überlagert. Der Ester Gehalt ist völlig ausreichend und für mich einer der besten Hampden die ich bisher getrunken habe. Der Preis von 250Euro ist hier leider durchaus angemessen. Ein ganz toller Rum.
