Karukera
Rhum Vieux Millésime 1999
Brut de Fût
45%

Rhum Agricole
Country of origin: Guadeloupe (Hope Distillery)

Color: Brown

Nose:
Very sweet and flowery at first nosing with notes of sugarcane. In the following aromas of fudge, leather, floor polish, nutmeg and cinnamon are coming up with additional fruity aromas (raisins, dates, prunes and plantains).

Palate:
Sweet and herbal-medicinal like salmiac pastilles. Acacia honey, plantains and avocados. Then becomes spicy with notes of vanilla, tannins and nutmeg.

Finish:
Spicy with a dry oakyness and a bitter finish (salmiac pastilles).

Beautiful amber color with a first nose on sugar cane but around coffee and nuts as well as exotic fruits. In the mouth, the vegetal and the floral disappears to leave the place with spices with a very long final. Nice millésime from Karukera only produced with blue sugar cane and without any cold filtration.

I actually do. There is raisin and date in the nose, first a lot of alcohol on the tongue, burning even. Oak in the finishing. If you like Agricole, it's almost perfect.

Guadeloupe typical taste: strong alcohol attack, then vanilla and wood.
