Very limited Artesano Bottling

This bottling is very special for me because it is a personified bottle. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Sebastian Lauinger from El Ron del Artesano for his great rums, the great service and the absolutely nice contact. Thanks.
The El Ron del Artesano Sweetwine BA WB is a Panama rum, which was allowed to be stored for 10 years in Ex Bourbon barrels and then got its finish in a white wine barrel. BA stands for Berries Selection and WB for White Berry. The Single Cask Rum was bottled as New Year's Eve 2020 special bottling by hand in cask strength and the label was personified. There are 100 bottles in total.
The rum is very different from the other Sweetwine bottling of Artesano. The nose is very sweet with burnt sugar, vanilla and orange. A clear thick fruit note is recognizable. In addition, there are light barrel notes with oak and some spice. On the palate, the post-storage is clearly visible. A thick fruity sweetness is paired with very fine barrique notes. Fruit with orange and berries pair with vanilla. The rum shows its sharpness and tannins come out clearly. At the finish, the bitter substances dominate and the rum becomes astringent.
The Sweetwine BA WB is an interesting rum but certainly not the most exciting bottling of Artesano. Especially since the Sweetwine BA is still one of my favorite rums. The BA WB is a good sipper and very accessible. For me it will always be a special rum, because the dedication on the label announces my next Offspring and the fact that the bottle has been broken open means that the project was successful.

Der El Ron del Artesano Sweetwine BA WB ist ein Panama Rum, welcher 10 Jahre in Ex Bourbon Fässern lagern durfte und dann sein Finish in Weißwein Fässern bekommen hat. BA steht für Beeren Auslese und WB für Weiße Beere. Der Single Cask Rum wurde als Silvester 2020 Sonderabfüllung in Handarbeit in Fassstärke abgefüllt und das Etikett personifiziert erstellt. Insgesamt gibt es 100 Flaschen.
Der Rum unterscheidet sich stark von der anderen Sweetwine Abfüllung von Artesano. Die Nase ist sehr süß mit gebrannten Zucker, Vanille und Orange. Eine deutliche dicke Fruchtnote ist erkennbar. Dazu kommen leichte Fassnoten mit Eiche und etwas Würze. Am Gaumen zeigt sich die Nachlagerung deutlich. Eine dicke fruchtige Süße paart sich mit ganz feinen Barrique Noten. Frucht mit Orange und Beeren paaren sich mit Vanille. Der Rum zeigt seine Schärfe und Tannine kommen deutlich zum Vorschein. Am Abgang dominieren die Bitterstoffe und der Rum wird Astringent.
Der Sweetwine BA WB ist ein interessanter Rum aber sicherlich nicht die spannendste Abfüllung von Artesano. Besonders da der Sweetwine BA immer noch einer meiner liebsten Rums ist. Der BA WB ist ein guter Sipper und sehr zugänglich. Für mich wird er immer ein besonderer Rum sein, da die Widmung auf dem Etikett meinen erneuten Nachwuchs ankündigt und die Tatsache das die Flasche aufgebrochen ist bedeutet, dass das Projekt erfolgreich war.
