The Saint James Brut de fût from 2001 is a bottling especially for Habitation Velier and is an Extra Vieux Rhum Agricole from Martinique. Produced in the Creole Column style, the rhum is bottled with 50.3% cask strength and comes in the typical Saint James bottle. It is limited to 1157 bottles.

The Saint James is strong and dark in the nose. A lot of barrel influence and dark fruits are accompanied by grassy Agricole notes. Toffee and baking spices combine with vanilla and a hint of citrus and mint. Terrific. On the palate, the rhum is complex with a full body. The alcohol is super integrated. A lot of wood, a little tobacco and dark fruit underline light Agricole notes that become more present in the finish. The finish is woody with some dark chocolate and lasts a long time.

An absolutely high quality Agricole that shows a lot of complexity and has beautiful dark thick aromas. Absolutely delicious and a great example of a perfectly stored Agricole Rhum.
