Got a sample of this Rhum from RhumAttitude in my latest order. It’s a great true Agricole (cause it comes from a French Overseas Department), which tastes real good.
I believe I can notice honey in my nose initially and thereafter it’s kind of fruity. On the palate it’s quite vegetable and the cane flavours are quite dominant.
During the finish the sweetness comes trough together with the fruitiness.
A great Agricole from the Indian Ocean.

Dozvuk: Pepř, travnatost s medem a závan koňakovitosti. Hořkne.
Sladkost: 1/3
Ochutnán vzorek
Nejslabší kousek z trojice Cognac, PX a Sauternes. Je nejsirnatější (nejsmradlavější) a chuť je na okamžik až nepříjemně sladká. Velmi slabých 7/10.

At first : I really love Mauritius and I really love Chamarel. A very small destillery with a lot of charme. Quit, calm, naturally. Chamarel is special. Sugar cane is from there own cultivation. Hand harvest. And they only produce Rhum Agricole, no molasses.
This rum aged 6 years in an oak-barrel and than 2 years in an ex-cognac-cask.
Nose : at first GLUE ! Reminds me to a modelbuilding-glue. After 5 minutes : oak. Just oak. Oak. Oak. Glue is disappered. I don't drink Cognac, so I don't know how Cognac smells and tasts, but my nose don't tell me somethng good.
Palate : the first impression is a little bit sharp, alcoholic, but that is changing after a few seconds. Sharpness is vanished and makes place for ... ahh : the oak. It's like you bite on a part of wood.
After swallowing there is a pleasant rest of pleasent flavor. Remains very long in mouth and fills it. But again and again it's the oak, you will meet.
Result : not really good, not really bad, Price/performance ratio is not acceptably (one bottle is about 150 €).
My point of view is : drinkable ... but not for 150 €
