Damoiseau 2009 Full Proof 7-Year is a premium rum crafted in Guadeloupe using traditional methods. It is distilled from fresh sugarcane juice and then aged for seven years in oak barrels to develop a complex flavor profile. This particular vintage has been bottled at full proof, which means it is not diluted with water, resulting in a higher alcohol content compared to regular rums. The aroma is predominantly of baked apple, vanilla, and brown sugar, with a taste that is smooth with a subtle sweetness, and notes of oak, caramel, and spices. This rum is ideal for sipping straight, or as a key ingredient in high-end cocktails.

Aroma is smooth and fruity without typical freshness of agricole rum. Taste is complex and nicely warm (but no much burning as you would expect from 66.9%) First sweeter fruit tones (pear, apricot, raisin) turning after few second in to cacao, oak and black tea. Aftertaste is longer with leather, tobacco and hint of pepper (or chili). For the price 75Eur (in Czech Republic) it´s fastastic value !

Lovely lovely stuff this. Rich and soft, with hay, pepper, wood and everything else you expect from a good agricole, paired with intense fruits, chocolate, honey and spice.
