Rum pochází z destilerie Beenleigh a zrál 13 let v Austrálii v 200l sudech po bourbonu a 1 rok ve Francii ve 400l sudech po koňaku Ferrand.
Celkem bylo nalahvováno 21 sudů.
Na etiketě je vyobrazen kakadu žlutočečelatý (Cacatua galerita).

Aroma: Pěkně nakysle ovocná (jablka, mango, banány), květiny, třtina.
Chuť: Ostřejší, štiplavá, ovocně pálenková.
Dozvuk: Štavnatá nahořklá ovocnost s příměsí kořenitosti a vanilky. Delší.
Sladkost: Celá lahev
Moc pěkně ovocná a šťavnatá Austrálie. V porovnání s Plantation Australia 2009 (sherry finiš) toto plnění jasně zvítězilo.

Ein komplexer Rum, der sicherlich nicht jedem zusagt. Im Glas etwas atmen lassen und mit zwei Teelöffel Wasser verdünnt ergibt sich ein runder und warmer Rum mit einer Cognacnote. Ich mag dIese limitierte Edition sehr.

When I think of the dry grape varieties that go into making cognac i think I understand this rum better. Whatever sweet note there is comes from the ex-bourbon barrels at Beenleigh and then this is surpassed by the Ferrand Cognac barrels that the cognac stole all the natural flavour and sugar from already. This is a tight rum that appears to not want to open up... to me anyway. I guess I may have learned I prefer a sweeter finishing cask or a little dosage (don't tell anyone).
It has that dry aperitif-y taste of cognac which is still delicious rum but its not gonna release all the bonus stuff if i was to warm my glass for a few minutes.

This was an interesting rum from Australia, but it's simply too dry for my liking.

Has a bit of a fruity smell and taste, with some pepper, oak, and bourbon.

But too dry for my personal liking.

Very sippable, light and refreshing rum. Very crisp, fruity nose, flavors of crisp apples and pears with hints of sugars and baking spices. A marvelous bargain - one of my favorites from Plantation!

Au nez, noyau d'abricot et noix de coco.

My experience with Aussie rum began and ended with Bundeberg UP before this. Bundy barely qualifies as rum and has the palate of paint thinner. This was quite a surprise! It's dry and clean on the palate, rich sugar tones etc., but! it had this really interesting spiciness that I've not encountered before, an almost savoury Chinese five-spice blend quality. Interesting and enjoyable

Vzorek který jsem obdržel v našem klubu mne překvapil svojí jemností. Ve vůni i chuti po nalití do skleničky cítím desinfekci, ale ne nepříjemnou. Je natolik jemná a zajímavá, že přímo vybízí k napití. Chutná velice jemně se středně dlouhým dozvukem v ústech. Velmi dobrý rum.
