Complex taste and full-bodied, good for beginners and veterans. Taste rises in sweetness to a cresendo to then to a long lasting slight caramel finish. Burn also continues but in a good way.

It is quite rare for a 5 Year rum to be better than it's 8 Year older brother. Such is the case here and you can also save about $8 US. However, better buys can be found since most of this one's cost goes into the fancy bottle.

Color is golden. Robust flavor with a great taste both on the rocks and in a cocktail

Głęboki i estrowy smak. Koniec długi, pełen aromatów. Mocno wyczuwalny dąb. Dla mnie doskonały rum. Niebawem zamawiam kolejną butelkę.

Tried this at the tasting table in my local store so I don't have a picture to share. It's sweet and smooth with not a great deal of depth. Vanilla, honey, and burnt oak from the Bourbon casks it's aged in. It's decent as a sipper if you have nothing else. It will definitely work as a mixing rum. Overall, I liked it, and it's worth trying a bottle.

Great flavor from the aging in bourbon barrels, light with a malty flavor. Is buy it again or try the older ages.

Bombarda Culverin
Color - brass (website says golden straw .. same color, but more literary appeal). On the nose this rum is buttery, with hints of citrus, and a slightly grassy finish. On the tongue, I taste a bit of citrus that blends with the taste of apples and pears (mild fruit flavors). There is an excess of pepper for sipping, but it would shout "hooray" in a drink such as a pina colada that has so many other flavors to smother a wimpy rum. The alcohol is present, but not overpowering, and the flavors all combine to yield a medium finish. The pepper makes it not a good companion in a Cuba Libra because it fights the sugary sweet of the cola. The website reports an aroma of sandalwood. Since I do not know how sandalwood smells, I say grassy, but both evoke thoughts of something dry and fragrant. I disagree with the description of "easy-going" on the website. The "cracked pepper" is pretty heavy handed in this one.

Mild brown sugar on the nose and palate. Medium viscosity with a touch of sweetness.

Great starter rum, has all the pieces. The aromas and tastes took me through the oak, earthiness, and sweetness of rum. Smells like and tastes nice. Little bite, better taste. It's good for sipping but better for mixing or cigars.

Nice long lasting smokiness that transforms into a subtle sweetness. A similar long last burn accompanies the flavor changes. Probably wouldn’t drink this as a near sipper very often.
