Ron Zacapa Centenario XO Solera Gran Reserva Especial

Too much hype for Zacapa products. This rum is 3 timesmore expensive, what it gives for you. Nothing special in it.

Given the price and my affinity for Edicion Negra, I thought this might be the top of the heap. Sadly I was disappointed...not so much in the rum itself but with the thought that I could have had 2 plus bottles of equivalent for the same outlay. The rum itself is fine but that price:)

It uses a blend of aged rums and you can easily depict the notes of the sherry, cognac and whiskey casks. There is a lush sweetness to combat the raw intensity

Thick and creamy, a bit spicy. You can feel tobacco and nutmeg. So smooth. Just awesome.

With this one, It is very easy to get carried away by its smooth flavour. This rum's exquisite mild blended taste makes it enjoyable and easy to drink. It has a good structure flavour body one that hits all the high notes.

i have it in my bar, will not spend many words here, is another sugar bomb in a nice package ...

Vůně tropického ovoce, starého dubu, vanilky, koření.
Chuť dřevitá, sladší, lehce štiplavější, čokoláda, bourbon, rozinky.
Závěr střední, lehce tabákový, bourbonově nasládlý.

I know too good for a cocktail. Well not if you like really good cocktails. This was maybe the best cocktail I have ever tasted. The better the rum the better the drink. I learned this in Jamaica at an all inclusive resort. Had them add an Appleton 12y floater to my Pina Colada. Only way to drink one in my opinion. Also remember the first Mia Tia would cost you over a grand today if you could find the rum.

I love Zacapas and that's one of my favorites.. not so special though for that price tag.

An interesting and nice rum but I think a little expensive for the flavors it offers. Distinct aroma of caramelized sugar and chocolate. To taste - caramel, chocolate, a light shade of wood and spices. I would say not a particularly impressive ending.
