We went to the Lakeland distillery and Christain gave a great tour, tasting all his rums and even the Coquitos. Delicious and the drinks at bar were outstanding. The Libertalia was delicious

Tried this as part of the Rum Ratings tasting kit, and found it to be too dry for my liking, with a little cinnamon spice and ethanol flavor.

Immediately hit with an aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg, clove type spices. Smells like the holidays. Taste is a bit harsh, which outlasts the flavor on the palate. I would recommend in eggnog.

I was really hoping this spiced would be at the same level as Riskey, but I was let down. The nose has a very distinct note of cinnamon and very similar to apple pie. The flavor is rich with spice, but to a fault. Perhaps too much spice for its own good. Nice, smooth finish. Overall, there are better spiced rums. I will always be a Captain Morgan fan and 9north is one of the best I’ve had. Look elsewhere for your spiced rum.

I don't care for spiced rum much, but there are some good ones such as 9North and Kaniche. I don't, however, recommend Libertalia.

Libertaria Rum is made by infusing real spices into a base rum for several months, which transfers flavor and color into the finished product. The result tastes like a cinnamon apple pie drizzled with caramel. The complex flavors deepen on the finish and with subsequent sips.
