The bottle says fermented, distilled and bottled in Cornwall (UK). If I had blind, I'd almost say that it had hits of a Guyanese/Navy Rum. Full molasses on the nose. They say lightly sweetened and no caramel added. Well, it has good colour, but what they consider to be lightly sweetened, might differ from me. A bit too sweet on the nose and the body. But, I don't have a lot of sweet rums in my cupboard, and this one is kept in balance by the burn of the young-ish spirit. Results is a smooth drinking rum which has a bit of unsophisticated edge to it, that I find very appealing.
Simple test - would I but again? Probably, or at least their Gold is something that I'll likely buy to try.
Very strange profile. Very dark almost translucent with a moderate alcohol burn on the scent. First sip neat hints of licorice then grassy note, slightly like Sambuca. Appears to be young rum Iβm thinking 5 years which is hard to figure the dark color. States that no color has been added. Very nice presentation in the bottle and cap. Second sip with ice I note burnt sugar and orange peel same grassy finish. I donβt think I can drink this rum at least not tonight. My pallet goes more for Caribbean West Indies, Central & S American rum.
Great tasting rumnthats very easy to drink goes well on its own or with some nice cold ginger beer.
First found this Rum at a Cornish market .
They were offering tasters and I tried each sample.
The dark was immediately my favourite and I bought a bottle immediately.
I usually have spiced Rum but this was smooth and easy on the palette.
The Rum was a rich dark and natural colour.
Just sent off for another bottle from their website!
Bottle is a good shape, I believe hand blown glass, the stopper great so packaging has the quality look and feel. Then down hill all the way. My picture shows the true colour and it is too dark as if the rum had been in an overcharred barrel. Not enough scent on the nose and a weak taste of liqourice and caramel. A disappointment from Cornwall.
I reckon this is the best offering from Rosemullion so far. Loads of creamy smooth dried fruit flavours and a lovely lingering mouthful of liqourice.
Amazingly smooth for such a young rum, definitely in my top 10!
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Very well balanced

The usual suspects of caramel, coffee and clove are present, so nothing new on that front. However, the flavours and heat are incredibly well balanced, leading to a rum which is great as a sipping rum but would work well in a zombie too.
