I bought a bottle because of the good ratings here and the discounted price. Vanilla, dried fruit and some wood in the taste. It is a nice rum I will only buy if it is on sale again.
Enjoyed this bottle, but the value isn’t there. There are a lot of tropical fruit flavors, some sugarcane and some wood. Aftertaste is a little less pleasing and a little hot. Something bitter towards the end.
I think I paid around $80 for this. For an extra $20-$30 you can get the 25 year which is incredible.

Beautiful mahogany in the glass.
On the nose vanilla, caramel and dried fruit.
On the palate, sweet caramel, vanilla sugar and sticky toffee compete. The fruits give their best as well.
Pleasantly long finish, the caramel dancing with the chocolate towards the sunset.
A boring sweet solera from the house of O&O which all taste the same to me, sweet and delicious. The 15 year old is already good, the 25 year old is great, does it really need an 18 year old? Stand no longer so on sweet rum, but sometimes for a dessert ok.

It is an ok rum all in all.
You taste the alcohol though it is sweet. It can seem almost a bit harsh. A lot of other bottles have a more rounded-off feel when it comes to taste.
Bitter caramel, dried fruit, brown sugar and oak - very soft with the lower abv.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

This rum has character but still misses the mark a bit. Nose and palate are mostly the same: raisins or some other dried fruit, a touch of smoke, an easygoing sweetness but not overbearing, and woodiness. "Oak" is always sort of the default wood characteristic of a lot of rums and many other spirits, and for good reason, but for whatever reason, this one comes across as cedar, there's just something about it.
Overall: 6.4. It's a decent sipper but not one that screams the necessity to restock.
