Duppy Share Spiced

Got a 5cl sample of this “liquor” from RR Tasting Club.
The name Duppy Share comes from the Duppies which is a ghost taking the best part of rum around the Caribbean islands and is the same thing as Angels Share that is the “phenomenon” originally from Scotland.
This spiced rum is a blend of 2-year aged rums from Jamaica and Barbados spiced with Pineapple, Kola nut, ginger, vanilla, grapefruit, clove, nutmeg, basil, and orange.
For me the orange and pineapple dominates totally together with sweetness in both nose and mouth as well as during the short finish. Added sugar is 29,8gr.
I’ve tasted some spiced/flavored rum that I’ve liked, but this one doesn’t count in.

I liked the regular Duppys share , so when I saw the new spiced version I thought I would give it a go. Not drinkable as anything else than a mixer but it's good with either lemonade , coke or ginger beer.. You can taste both the Kola nut and pineapple in it. Glad I tried it but won't be rushing out for a second bottle.

Hmm my first go at it was awful, I was quite surprised as I really love the Duppy aged and look forward to trying the XO when it arrives in Australia. Too strong a kola flavour weak abv really shows.
Would I recommend? No. I’m not sure I would recommend any spiced rum but no, not this one.

Light, smooth, sweet. Most if the flavour is the spice. Easy drinking but lacks depth and strength.

It is pretty close to the taste of the chocolate candy filling. A cheap one. No surprice.. I am not going to go for this one again.

Alors la ca déboite, moi qui ne boit que des rhum épicé la pffff ça réveille.
Floral d’où le nom botanica mais ça reste qd même cool.

Fairly smooth, pineapple hit but not overpowering. Maybe not one for the rum purist

Oproti klasické variantě je slabší, na mě příliš navoněný, vše jde do pozadí, pouze vanilka, kolový oříšek. Přijde mi až moc "umělý". Možná do koktejlu vhodnější, ale i tak bych volil klasickou variantu.

A niced standard spiced rum to join the levels of Sailor Jerry and Kraken. Nothing special but arguably a good buy at just $55AUD a bottle.
