Foursquare 2005 Shibboleth 16-Year

This rum is one of the best and must have for even the purist of rum connoisseurs.

Nose - raisins, cocoa, hint of vanilla, spice. Very deep smell, balanced.

Taste - naturally sweet. Fruits, caramel, cocoa, oak, mulled wine. Great Finish. You have to try.

56% spirit, which you can drink neat, enjoying every sip as it walks throug your palate. True rum at its best from Foursquare, worth every money spent on it. No marketing tricks, no deception, just transparent and clear information on the label of what you are about to experience - and since the very first sip you can feel, how much work and dedication was put in inside this bottle. I am truly glad to have tasted it and keep it in my cabinet.

Tasted at Laka Lono. It's very difficult for me to distinguish between this and Isonomy. They seem to be nearly the same rum. Both perfect. I have all the same flavor profile notes as I later found in the latter, but what really stood out with this one is the strong bourbon. Spicey nuts, chocolate, coffee, raisins, leather.

Velmi dlouhá dochuť, bourbonová, sladká, lehce ohnivá.

Big bold molasses, toasted coconut, and chocolate on the entry. Leather, oak, and cherry cola on the finish. Surprisingly creamy and fruity for 16 years old. In the same class as ECS 2008, with a bit less depth but a lot more tasty cocoa notes.

Výborné plnenie od Foursquare, dĺžku zrenia v chuti cítiť , jemne drevo, pekne ovocné tóny, ktoré v danej voltazi krásne hrajú na jazyku. Naozaj slušne dlhý záver. Jediný mínus je cena. Nie som si istý, či si obhájil svoju cenu v porovnaní s inými FSQ

Další skvělý rum z palírny Foursquare. 16 let tropického staření mu dává hloubku a kulatost. Je bohatý ve vůni i chuti, 56% abv. mu sluší. FQ té nejvyšší kvality, ale jeho cena a dostupnost je jeho velké mínus.

Hard to find, I believe it sold out within minutes on it’s very small release. I was lucky enough to get a bottle and it is perhaps the pinnacle of ECS output so far.

As others have said this is more subtle and complicated than some, and the lower 56% abv is perhaps the perfect level for easy drinking for those experienced at drinking higher ABV spirits. The downside to this is that it disappears too quickly, because one double becomes another and so on!

The flavours here are red fruits, tropical fruits, with a perfect balance of wood and a long finish.

For me, a unicorn and future legend in the same way as Criterion.

A layered, rich, and complex rum that makes an excellent sipper.
