Interesting mix; up front, the taste is good. Nice blend of opposing tastes. Finishes way too long and burns deep. I recommend this to a rye drinker instead of a rum drinker.

Honey, banana and spices in aroma, significant whisky spiceness, candid fruit and touch of citrus in the end

The aroma is apples with an astringent bite. It is definitely a whiskey. The flavor is all whiskey with none of the citrus or coconut of rum. Raw, it tastes best as a shot rather than in a casual sip. As with whiskeys, the rye flavor lingers for only a moment. I added a little water to the shot and it tamed the astringence, so it was more sipable. I can imagine that this would be quite good over ice. Mixing it with 7up (not sprite) would make an interesting simple drink. Otherwise, it should be treated as whiskey for mixing. I rated it 3 because it was not a good rum. It is fine as a whiskey. But that is the the focus of this site.

While I enjoy a nice rum, I'm not really one that can appreciate a good rye. I was so hoping this would have more of the rum flavor come through. However, I'm having difficulty finding the rum through the rye.

The nose reminds me of a Rye Old Fashioned with vanilla and spice notes. Could be a touch sweeter, but the finish is full and long.

Very nice. Wonderful rye nose. Smooth rye flavor with a subtle sweet finish. Very nice surprise indeed

Didn’t know what to expect when I was told someone created a rye rum blend, I’ve heard and tasted “aged in rye barrel” rums like Grander but I was pretty shocked at how good this turned out to be especially at 50% abv. Nose is smooth barely feel the alcohol burn, taste is full rye but toned down with a hint of sweetness. Finish lasts a bit almost like an agricole but only a small hint of funk. Awesome addition to the collection

The rye isn't as punchy as you might expect, and it's a surprisingly harmonious blend, but I feel like something is missing. Nice, but not sure you couldn't do better mixing rye and rum yourself. Still, it's like, hmm, a coffee old fashioned in a bottle... Nice to have something that tastes so good straight, no effort required.

"YES offcourse!!" was the first thing I thought when tasting this. The spice of the Rye and the sweetness of the rum go so well together. This is great on its own (finished the bottle with the neighbours) but I can see this go very well in drinks like Old Fashion's, Manhattans and maybe even a cheeky Boulevardier or would it than become a Sivardier?
