NR: Very good WP, even better than the WP 12 Estate

Single Cask bottling with around 250 bottles at cask strength with 56.6%.
Nose: A nice fruity nose with lots of orange zest greets me. I already know the profile from Plantation Long Pond 1996 and from WPM Habitation Velier. Here we have, of course, WP typical also the banana aromas as well as slightly anis with light wood which reminds me of a PM. Further, sweet dried fruits such as raisins can also be perceived and round off the scent very well.
Definitely a tropical aging, I would say. Deeper in the glass are wood and barrel aromas, which complement the fruity smell well. A slight earthiness can be perceived if you stick your nose too deep into the glass. It smells quite intense and gives a complex impression with the orange zest. A fantastic smell that I would place between WPL and WPM.
Taste: It starts off slightly sweet with orange zest and dried fruits such as raisins. With more warmth, the tannins come out slightly, then the sharpness increases rapidly, the orange zest explode and slosh over into anis aromas. It now seems bright, I have fresh white oak, light tannins, vanilla with anise in my mouth.
The finish is less spicy than I expected. There are lots of orange zests, dried fruit, dried and green banana flavors. A bit of honey sweetness with grassy notes comes out at the end, which reminds me of a PM again.
Aftertaste: Orange zest, anise, vanilla, banana aromas, floral aromas
Conclusion: a very good bottling that I would not have expected in this quality. Since this is a single cask, it was chosen very well. The aging is also very good and balanced. The sharpness is not too demanding, but it could also be a little less sharp and would therefore tastes older. It seems older in smell than in taste, the 13 years were well chosen in my opinion. Maybe 16 would be even better in taste.
