I had this rum at a well known restaurant as a well brand for happy hour. Used Coke and lime and it was awful. Why would a well known restaurant serve this?
There is a tree bark, plastic, alcohol, caramel in the aroma.
Bitterness is dominant in the taste. Spicy cheese helps a lot.
Good for utilitarian purposes: warm, unload, load.
Very cheap as a Bacardi substitute. No flavor really....pretty much just alcohol. Kinda 'sweet' tasting I guess. Best to be saved for college kids lol.
Goes best with cola or juice. As one reviewer said it has a "dirty sock" taste. I too noticed it and had to double check. I bought it for 9.99 at the local packy for the 4th of July weekend. Decent mixer, but that's it.
Not world-class by any stretch but at $7 where I live it has its uses.
Drank it neat. Not much complexity. Would only use as a mixer.
isnt much here in the way of flavor at all which is why it will probely mix well good choice if you dont want to taste your rum imo
Cheap alternative to Bacardi. Good for mixing. Nothing else.

Honestly 7 out of 10
All you wannabee critics that give this product low marks should explain to the rest of us just exactly what you expected when you paid 1/3 less for it than other 'house' brands (like Bacardi). Further, anyone who buys the least expensive rum on the shelf and intends to drink it neat, up or on the rocks needs to have his/her head examined....or better still, maybe you need to stop drinking altogether. This rum is just fine for mixing, is not too sweet and has no offensive aftertaste. Its price point is exactly where it needs to be for the mixology market. Get a life people.
