I had this rum at a well known restaurant as a well brand for happy hour. Used Coke and lime and it was awful. Why would a well known restaurant serve this?

Good choice for well rum offering. Mixes easily with coke and fruit juice. I am using this to do infusions with pineapple and bananas. Excellent value

Its sweet, good mixer, but ultimately at the end found it had a dirty old socks taste that was enough to put me off from buying it again. I'd get this in a pinch or was entertaining a lot of people I wasn't to overly concerned about impressing. Otherwise, its a pass.

This rum has a nice taste and mixes great with any fruit juices.

On the rocks this rum has a slightly astringent taste to it. There seems to be a very slight anise backing to it, but in my opinion this would work much better as a component in a mixed drink rather than a stand-alone.

I wouldn't drink this straight-up or on the rocks, but it does well as a mixer for those on a budget.

Undrinkable doesn't cover it - powerful alcohol notes followed by gagging sweetness. This is a drink you give to someone as a prank. Mixing is precarious at best.

This is my go to mixer for rum and Coke Zero. I like it better than Bacardi (who owns Castillo) at a lot less $$.

Castillo is literally the Bacardi that "isn't good enough" like Busch is to Budweiser. That said, I'll be damned if I can tell the difference. Both suck...for a few dollars more, buy a bottle of Cruzan Light. It's significantly better for nearly the same price.

Castillo silver is by far my favorite rum for mixing. Completely outshines and out classes bacardi. I keep a 1.75L in my freezer at ALL TIMES.

Could swap in for a Bicardi or maybe a Cruzan silver. Taste is minimal with no real strong notes. For the price it's not offensive but not astonishing. Good for Fogcutters or other drinks where stronger flavors will join in.
