The Duchess Jamaica Worthy Park 14-Year

This warm rum has had a tropical aging of 10 years + 4y continental. It was distilled in a pot still and is made of molasses.

Smell: Deep rich nose with dark aromas escapes from the glas. Seems like a WPM to me. A combination of caramell, orange zests and wood lacquer greets me. There is fresh wood with vanilla in the background. Deeper in the glas are old barrel aromas. The rum turns floral after some time. There are also some slightly medical notes and some leather. Very good smell, complex and rich.

Taste: It starts with bananas, caramel and wood lacque. Just slightly sweet. It became spicy very fast. Some tannins are rising with bright wood and the mouth gets dry. Now I get more of the typical banana aromas. Wood lacquer with grains became very intensive. Orange zests are in the background.
The finish is even more spicy, I get orange zests, bright wood, bananas, some tannins

Aftertaste: orange zests, bananas, bright wood, wood lacquer

Great WP, but a little bit too spicy. It's complex and rich. Very good rum.
