Smell: I am greeted by a fantastic and very floral smell, almost like lipstick. I find a lot of orange zest like in the Clarendon One Time Edition by Plantation, also some anise. There are some heavy aromas of leather, aged wood, some vanilla. This is also reminiscent of the HV EMB 2010. Deeper in the glass are barrel and slightly earthy aromas.

Taste: Quite dry, not sweet and slightly bitter start with orange zest and lots of wood. Grains develop together with tannins. The sharpness increases rapidly and the zests turn into leather. In the finish, the tannins increase again and menthol appears. The finish is sharp, the 61.9% threaten to overwhelm the palate at any moment.

Aftertaste: leather, orange zest, menthol, wood, very floral

Conclusion: I'm missing the sweetness here, the EMB 2010 makes that better in terms of taste. This rum almost seems a bit overaged to me. I could imagine that the Plantation Clarendon tastes the same undiluted.
