Riviere du Mat Grande Reserve Traditionnel

Bought three different Rivière du Mat, produced in Reunion, during my drive down to Spain.
This is the third and last I open, a traditionnel Rhum Vieux.
Haven’t found out the aging, but I estimate it to around 4 years.
The aroma is complex, sweet, woody and fruity with hints of tobacco.
The taste is also fruity and woody with notes of honey, spices, tobacco and ginger.
The finish is rather long, fruity and dry with hints of bitter almond.
Overall a quite good rum that’s definitely better than the Ambre and the Royal Reserve because of its deeper character and longer finish.

Une attaque puissant mais qui fini par s'adoucir. Je lui préfère le rivière du mat Opus 5 pas beaucoup plus chère mais plus équilibré

Attaque toute en puissance au départ arrive ensuite tous les arômes tels que ..poivre et noix de muscade cuir et bois...un vrai bon Rhum de grande occasion!

Bought a bottle of Riviere du Mat Grande Reserve while vacationing in Martinique. Very nice and high end packaging, bottle and label design. Golden color. Traditional Rhum Agricole flavors are complemented with pepper, cinnamon, vanilla, floral bouquet and plenty of oak to the nose and palate. Strong and dry burn at the end. Rhum Agricole fans boys can easily add 2 points to my score.

En la nariz cierta frescura. Con mas tiempo en copa, mas vainilla y pasas.
En boca caña de azúcar. Alcohólico, no raspa pero quema. Amiguito de chocolate. Buen ron pero promedio.

A must to buy if you go on La Réunion where you can find it in any supermarket for 17€ only! It is very pleasant to drink with a woody flavor.

Full taste, nice smell great rum ... On Reunion is the best choice :)

Un très bon rhum traditionnel avec cependant une brulure alcoolique trop prononcée. Il fautdonc le laisser s'ouvrir suffisamment dans le verre avant dégustation
