Truly a fantastic choice
Unaged, double pot distilled in Massachusetts and bottled at 62%ABV. Standard HV bottling. Tasted neat in a glencairn.
In the glass: white
On the nose: a bit tight at first. breaking through with fruits, mostly green and maybe even a little unripe - crisp apple, hints of d'anjou pear and green mango.
Palate: Waves of granny smith apple and pear, as well as their respective eau-de-vies. Some minerality and the slow creep of molasses in the background. Even at this proof, no strong ethanol burn at all.
Finish: Very long. Some apple tart with emerging floral notes as well as those mineral (almost mildly metallic but in a good way) and molasses flavors from the palate that linger and evolve.
Summary: Incredible and surprising. Everything about it screams unaged agricole rhum or maybe a Williams eau-de-vie, but in keeping with the Privateer ethic, this is molasses-based rum and undoctored. A roller coaster!
- vůně jemně nasládlá, lesní jahody a vzdálené ždibek penicilínu
Závěr dlouhý a prijemny
