This Ambre’ Agricole rum from ReimonenQ in Guadeloupe has spent 1 year in oak barrels before bottled at 40%.
The nose is soft, spicy and fruity with hints of wood and strawberry.
The palate is soft and sweet, but also a little tart. I can also recognize licorice and strawberry together with some spiciness and citrus. It’s not a a typical Agricole, it’s so round and mellow.
The medium long finish goes on in the same way with significant taste of strawberry, cherry and licorice.

Visited the Reimonenq Distillery in Guadeloupe and bought a bottle of Rhum Ambré from the distillery since their tasting bar was very limited. Boring bottle and label design. Golden color. Typical dry Rhum Agricole flavors alongside grass, citrus fruits, vanilla and plenty of oak followed by a strong burn being so dry. Rhum Agricole fans can easily add 2 points to my score.
