Habitation Velier 2010 Hampden LROK 10-Year

9.75/10. One of my absolute favorite offerings, very glad to have been able to purchase a bottle.

One of the most balanced Hampden. A typical ripeness of exotic fruits wrapped in a "gentle" funk and the best glues and varnishes ever.

Fruity, funky, complex

Nose- honey, lemon, citrus, tangy funk, sea water, peach, lush fruit, ( juicy fruit gum ) brown butter, white oak, light peat smoke

Palate- dark deep notes open up to lighter fruitier ones. More lush fruit, Over ripe banana, apricot, Bartlett pear, sweet and tangy soy ginger sauce

Finish- long finish, bbq, tobacco, coco, chocolate, marzipan, rye bread, dry wood, like a Popsicle stick

Definitely would recommend and buy again!

Bought two of those last summer and on my birthday I decided to treat myself by opening one. WOW, Hampden rums never disappoint. This Velier offering, at 62% is so well balanced and full of flavours, amazing. The Jamaican funkiness is there but not overwhelming, spicyness comes through and the taste lingers and lingers, amazing flavours. Now I regret not purchasing 4 bottles.

Man does this have a lot going on! First off rubber, lemon, varnish, honey, pepper. It's creamy and finishes with caramel that rubber! Extremely well balanced and in the convo for my favorite Hampden.
