Good enough to taste it straight. But must be cold for doing so.

Not bad, but mostly sweet (caramel). And to be honest, for the (not so sweet) price and high age of this rum I expected a bit more (complexity).
aged in white oak and previous Bordeaux wines. Very smooth pleasant aroma. Taste is moderately sweet, with the white wine character coming through strong. Delicious, but prefer a deeper and more complex rum at this price. 88+
Unfortunately I only sampled a small 30ml of this but I am intrigued. Lashings of oak and malt maybe burnt oak, if I'm being honest a bit to woody for my usual taste but this had a great long finish of mild vanilla and burnt Orange, chocolate. A bottle will be put on my wishlist
Quite strong with the afterburner and therefore not my favorite. Very nice presentation of the flask, so I can definitely recommend this one for decoration. Drinking the rum on the other hand, is a different story. Could do a lot better…
7:The nose is greedy yet dry. A pleasant woodiness with hints of nuts (especially walnuts and almonds) takes center stage. Aromas of caramel coffee try to steal the show, but don't quite succeed. Slight mushroom notes complete the profile.
7,5:On the palate, the attack is sweeter than expected, and this sweet impression becomes more and more present with each passing second. The 43% does not allow this rum to descend into an extreme liquorice. There's caramel and, in the background, nuts and roasted notes.Hints of leather/tobacco underneath.
7:The finish is rather long and clearly dominated by caramel and nuts. The cask, however, remains in ambush not far behind.
A nice companion with cigar.
Sweet and goes down smoothly. I wouldn’t be upset drinking the night away with this
This rum isn't 30 years old as many think. it is like 12ish. It's just a limited version and carefully blended, aged a few years after normal procedure in french sweet wine casks i think. But anyway, a very nice one if you don't need to do maths. You get 4-5 bottles of Barcelo Imperial ...and its not 5times better
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

People get confused, the rum title says "30th Anniversary" not "30 years". Created by Miguel Barceló this anniversary blend is aged for 10 years in used American bourbon barrels. The rum is then recasked in Chateau D'Yquem barrels for two years. The rum is 12 years aged, bottled nicely to overcharge you.
