Smells like cotton candy and bubble gum. Tates like white girl drunk

Nose is pineapple, pineapple, vanilla.

Taste is pineapple upside-down cake made with canned pineapple. This "rum" is missing the elements necessary to call this a rum. Too sweet. Not horrible, but not good either. Plantation Stighins fancy is a better pineapple-note rum. More rum with an afternote of pineapple.

This is not like any other rum Iโ€™ve had and that is exactly why I like it. Do I really need another rum with a caramel base that is subtly different than all the others? Not really. It smells like vanilla, has a light pineapple taste and yet is truly rum at its core. Will I drink it every dayโ€ฆno. But I need variety in life and Iโ€™m excited to come up with different ways of consuming it. For now, itโ€™s a couple ounces, a large ice cube, a few shaves of fresh nutmeg and my patio.

I had seen this rum listed in one of the Total Wine listings and ignored it since it had no reviews on here. Then I went to my local liquor store to get more Appleton 8 Year and to see what else was new. They had 4 new Hampdens at $70 each or more, so I left them there on the shelf. However, this one caught my eye for $25, so I brought it home.

Nowhere on the label does is say what proof of ABV%. I did not see this until I got home. Strike one! I opened it up and the aromas could make any room smell floral. Heavily sugared. Strike two! The label says Small Batch and Aged 7 Years. Liar, liar, pants on fire! Strike three! Then sipping this perfume. OMG, how on earth can anyone drink this stuff, but I have had much worse! Strike four and it gets my rating of 4. I would have been better off spending three times as much for that bottle of Hampden LROK. I now have a bottle of expensive fumigator.

I read another review for this one stating 'pineapple upside cake" and "cotton candy"..... spot on! Good rum, sweeter than most, light on the palate. I'd recommend to newer or non rum drinkers.

Very smooth and fruity. I would recommend to anyone who likes sweet drinks! But some may find it too sweet...

Convinced to buy a bottle cuz the bottle and labeling is cool, but left a bit disappointed. Too sweet for my taste and a very unique flavor profile akin to orange creamsicle or something. Not my favorite and probably won't purchase again, but that being said it wasn't horrible either.

ARRRGH! The crew member who "gifted" me this bottle of rum will be doin' hard labor on barnacle duty for the SCREW CAP on this bottle! Perhaps even while the ship be at sea. เฒ _เฒ  As for the rum, she has a sweet smell about her. Not sugary tho. Pineapple comes aboard hard and fast, with a bit of banana, then oak, maybe some vanilla, and just a hint of smoke. Me first mate says she smells of jackfruit, but I ain't never had no jackfruit, so that means jacksquat to me. On the tongue, she not be sweet, but she not be dry either. Any sweet you might be expectin' from the pineapple smell tastes as if the pineapple were wrapped in candyfloss and burned at the stake. What follows is a bitterness that has a wee bit of grassy taste on the finish. Aye, this rum literally has a bitter end. There be little burn goin' down the hatch, which be a plus, but as for it be a decent sippin' rum, this not be any sort of rum I be hidin' from the crew. Now, as disinclined as I am to be mixin' rums with anythin', I says you need to be mixin' THIS rum with better life decisions... or maybe pineapple and coconut juice. This not be a terrible sippin' rum, but it not be a great sippin' rum either. Arrgh!

I know it's wrong, but ima gonna want to drink with this on crushed ice with Coca Cola.
Let's talk flavor. There's a lot of it here: toffee, caramel, vanilla, brown sugar, pineapple upside down cake... probably not blueberries but a lot of the other happy flavors โค๏ธ
My rating on this just keeps increasing the more I sip and contemplate the goodness

EDIT: found my tasting notes from July 3, 2022 (above was likely from around 11/22)
5/5 bottles (I will retain the 8/10 original score)
from the notes "Why is this not a candle??? LOVE the tropical aroma!!!"
and "I LOVE this rum"
four doodled hearts accompany this review in my passport
