Coruba 74 Overproof

Got a sample of this rum from the RR Tasting Club.
Coruba is a blended pot still as well as column still rum distilled and matured by Wray & Nephew, whereafter it’s sent to Switzerland for blending, some more maturation and filling.
The nose is quite strong and sweet with notes of coffee, fruits and spices.
In mouth and on the palate it’s potent, sweet and very strong and I recognize nuts, vanilla, pineapple and leather.
The finish is quite long and goes on in the same way.
Overall an strong, potent and full bodied rum that’s remarkable smooth and mild at the same time.

Aroma is not pleasant and medicinal. Taste is strong, but very strange, like mix of white + agricole rums. Aftertaste is short and leaving very bad aftertaste.
