Got this sample in my first batch from Rum Ratings Tasting Club and tasted it tonight during the virtual tasting led by Josh from S.B.S. and supervised by Angel.
It’s a Pot still rum from Worthy Park matured in Oloroso Sherry casks and bottled by S.B.S.
So it’s not just finished in Oloroso casks it’s matured !
It’s, or maybe was, sold in a 20cl bottle together with 3 other Worthy Parks rum.
In nose it’s fruity with hints of dry Sherry.
On the palate and during the rather long finish it’s still fruity but also nutty and with clear hints of dry Sherry.
Overall it’s very intense, balanced, complex and quite dry.
It’s clearly one of the best Sherry matured rum I’ve ever tasted.
It’s a pity that it’s impossible to find, otherwise it could have had a place in my rumbar.
I will have to look for other Worthy Parks rum, besides those I have, that’s not just released in limited quantities.
Pictures: My finished sample in the glass & The 20cl bottle it is (was) sold in which can be used as an image.
Smooth rhum with sweet after taste. Smokey rhum, which I can recommend for the people liking the English types
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
