Mount Gay Black Barrel

Lots of flavour, surprised me with very matured taste, cask comes through quite fast. The following evening it tasted maybe even better, maybe a hint toward Cognac in flavour but with much more cask, also hints of whiskey. Long and round aftertaste, really enjoyed it. Very complex taste. Not to sweet, maybe with a taste of caramel as well. Low price and great value, will absolutely buy this again.

This is fairly smooth with a small bite at the end but the flavor is decent. While it's still a moderately proofed rum, it's more powerful than some. That said, it's semi-sweet with a nutty flavor. All that adds up to a very solid rum. Definitely worth trying.

Tried this side by side with the Mount Gay XO and this was a clear winner with the charred casks adding more complexity and flavor. cinnamon and vanilla spice, very unique. Great value.

A light and fruity sweet aroma. Light flavor, not very thick, with a burn on the back. Not bad, but have had better.

Surprisingly good rum with decent kick followed by pleasant after taste.

Its a solid sipping barbados rum exactly what you’d expect, leans too sweet for me on finish but lacks complexity you’ll get from a foursquare or mccoy. Still a must have for the collection though

It seems to be quite decent rum, flavourful. It's tastes more like whiskey/bourbon than rum and is a bit too harsh for my taste. Definitely worth a try with high probability that you enjoy it.

Bottle is modern style, clean. Color nice dark golden. Fruits and wood on the nose. Smoky oak, nuts and fruits on palate, notes of vanilla and toffee too. Quite dry for my usual taste of sweeter rums, but I still like it.

This is excellent sipping rum. Always have some of it around the house. will share with my best friends. Low the old bourbon barrel aroma and the oaky notes. Think I'll go have some now!
