I bought it to bring a bit of diversity for the weekly shot but It is not mind blowing at all. I don’t think I will buy again but I might give a try on the 12y version.

Smells like pineapple upside down cake, brown sugar and butter
Tastes like Jamaica funk!

Appearance: Amber

Flavor: funky with sweetness

A funky Jamaican rum. Huge grassy notes with esther and vanilla. Great thing...neat I'd say it's a 6 out of 10 but when added some Clément Sugarcane juice it becomes 7 out of 10!

Good to drink with a coke. Strong, stays on the palate and in the throat for a long time.

Good Mixer. A step up from the Kingston 62 and the previous Special Gold rums. Makes a nice Rum and Coke.

This rum was barely drinkable. Equal to Bacardi but twice the price.

This is the first bottle I’ve had since deciding to pay attention to rum and not just drink it. First whiff reminds me a sherry casked Irish, with maybe a little banana. Nice sort of dark chocolate after taste but a little whisky-esque harshness. Enjoying it but know there’s others to explore.

When I first opened the Appleton Signature I was a little disappointed. It certainly can't hold a candle to their Rare Cask 12 year, indeed, it's a night-and-day difference. However as I worked my way steadily to the bottom of the bottle I found I was getting used to it and it was drinking well. Flavours aren't terribly outstanding and it has a faintly wine-like quality to it. I suggest that rather than a sipper it'd be right at home in a cocktail, but I did the former and by the time I finished the bottle I was already missing it. So, nothing terribly outstanding but a solid 5 from me.

Surprisingly nice, we’ll balanced rum on ice or for fruity and/or sugary mixed drinks.
