First impression is not a typical New Yarmouth impression (some Appleton components?) I get coconut, salted caramel, bit spices and glue.
It started bit sharp, but it is also 67,17 % High on alcohol. However, with patience comes something good! Let it breath for a while and you will feel some smooth salty butter on the tongue, round and complex. Absolute fantastic Jamaican. Absolute recommended!

barva žlutonahnědlá
- vůně nádherná, jemná Jamajka, ovoce a hutnost, do čokoládová
- chuť více nasládlá, 67,7% velmi příjemných, koš ovoce, hlavně banány a hutnost čokolády
Skvělá dobrota 👏

The Ron Artesanal Jamaica Rum is from the New Yarmouth Distillery and was allowed to store in oak barrels for 25 years. The column-style rum was bottled in cask strength with 67.7% alcohol without additives, sugar or filtration. There are 709 Bottles of this limited edition.

The rum is strong in the nose and should first be allowed to breathe. Then come in addition to a lot of wood, beautiful vanilla and sweet fruit flavors. The rum looks heavy and the barrel influence is enormous. There is also something smoky perceptible. On the palate, the rum is direct and the alcohol drives the flavors into the mouth. Many dry barrel notes pair with sweet caramelized fruits, vanilla and bourbon notes. However, the tannins are well integrated. The rum is dry in the finish, the aromas remain and the bitter substances become slightly stronger.

An excellent rum, which is strongly characterized by the long storage. Reminds me a lot of the Appleton Estate Hearts series. Which, however, is somewhat more balanced and complex. A great rum and definitely a 9.5. But I had somehow expected a little more.

Smell: I already know the smell from the SBS New Yearmouth 1994. It clearly goes in the direction of Foursquare and Monymusk EMB 2010. Overall, quite sweet and heavy. The first aromas are burnt sugar, dried fruit, wood varnish, heavy barrel aromas and orange zest. Bourbon barrel aromas with vanilla are also perceptible.
It bites in the nose and should breath a little longer.

Taste: Sweet start with burnt sugar and dried fruit like a Foursquare. Then dark barrel aromas, hazelnut and tannins. The sharpness increases, the mouth becomes a little dry. Bourbon barrel and vanilla is easily noticeable, some wood varnish.
The finish is sharp with a little too many tannins, dried fruits and dark barrel aromas, burnt sugar.

Aftertaste: burnt sugar, barrel flavors, hazelnut

Conclusion: Reminds me a lot more of Foursquare than SBS NY94. It's a bit too sharp and minimally overaged. Before that, I had the Foursquare Plenipotenziario which went in a similar direction and tasted a little fresher. A very good rum that is not unique and does not have a special NY character.
