Foursquare 2010 Detente 10-Year

Released in August 2020 , aged in bourbon and port barels. I like a little sweetness in it .I think this is one of the best Foursquares I’ve tasted so far.

It is surprising how you can extract such a wide range of different flavours from each ECS bottle. Detente is another in the series that does not disappoint! Decent nose followed by complex flavours of raisin, stone fruits, caramel, dark chocolate and vanilla. Great sipper if you can still get it.

Strong port tones, nice burn, medium aftertaste. Perfect drinker.

Tasted at Laka Lono on 3/28. A big disappointment to me, and I'm a Foursquare fan! Pedestrian banana aroma, sweet maple flavor, lots of finishing spiciness and heat. I can find this in many rums for less than half the price.

Another banger from Foursquare. I can't think of an ECS that hasn't been a delight to drink and this is of course no exception. Caramel, sultana, oak, all the flavours you want in a premium rum.

The port cask finish gives it a different flavor. Hints of raisin, coconut, caramel, and a nice finish. Definitely doesn’t have a strong aftertaste. Good sipping rum, just not in my top 5 Foursquare favorites.

Very smooth start and love the caramel notes at the end.

Jedná se o blend dvou rumů, kdy jeden zraje 10 let v sudech po bourbonu a druhý nejdříve 4 roky v sudech po bourbonu a dalších 6 let zraje v sudech po portském víně. Celkový blend je tedy 10 let starý.
Vyrobeno bylo 21 000 kusů (9000 EU a 12 000 USA)
Détente znamená v překladu uvolnění (v politice).

Aroma: Vanilkový cukr, příjemně zatuchlé mokré dřevo, závan kokosu
Chuť: Karamel přecházjící do dřeva
Dozvuk: Karamel, trochu medu, dominuje dřevo, které se mísí se sušeným ovocem, stopa rozinek po portském jen tak přiznaná, dlouhý.

Další skvělý FQ, který se v souboji se Sagacity a Premise umístil na 1. místě. Se Sagacity si byl velmi podobný, ale nebyl tak sladký. 8,5b

This time, I wasn't able to take detailed notes. But in a line-up of rums and whiskies, this was one of the ones that shined through. The port is noticeable and elevates the palate, especially. However, with that said, it's run-of-the-mill Foursquare. Not as impressive as their other releases.

This is exactly another good FSQ. Just a little more sharp and less round compared with those I have rated as top from the same brand. What does not change is perfect experience on nose. My wife could use it instead of parfume ;)
