Great Rum
Nice sipper on its own, this is hard to find so if you see it buy it it’s worth a try.

So really really wanted to like this, nice bottle nice story, but although the nose is what you’d expect from a jamaican rum it’s sweeter than I would like the caramel finish grows on you but doesn’t last long enough. Was expecting a potstill vibe. Also negative points for the back of the bottle, story about james bond is cool but then owner of blackwell tries to clout chase james bond by putting his story on there, dude time and place, too much look at me look at me for my taste

I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor of this rum. Drink it neat- it has a smoothness to it that some will like, and some won’t. The story is great, too.

Základný typ výrobcu Black Gold Special Reserve ma zaujal aj napriek miernemu "spicy" charakteru. Tentokrát skúšam 2x drahšieho súrodenca, špeciálne vyrobeného pre účely marketingu k jednej Bondovke. Ten je odetý do veľmi štýlovej full-black matnej fľaše, čierna je aj umelá zátka z vnútornej strany. Drink je farby tmavého jantáru, vonia znovu dosť spicy, intenzívne cítiť korenie, orechy, karamel a snáď aj stopy prezretého ovocia. Chuť je ostrejšia a pomerne komplexná, s mnohými podtónmi. Skôr suchšia, jasne mi pripomenula prv spomínaný lacnejší kúsok, znovu je tu cítiť istá zemitosť. Vôbec mi však neprekáža, práve naopak, rum je svojský a veľmi zaujímavý. Začínam chápať pojem funky hogo, určite si spravím hlbší záber do jamajských vôd. Výrobca otvorene priznáva krátke zrenie (2-4 roky), záver mi však príde dostatočne dlhý. Treba skúsiť, väčšinu rumanov určite nemôže sklamať, snáď len vyššou cenou. Rating 7 - 8, kvôli svojbytnosti a štýlovej fľaši sa prikláňam k vyššej hodnote.

Never drank Blackwell before and the first glass was a bit disappointing. May be not the right moment. Had my second glass and it is oke. I can enjoy sipping it, still isn't my favorite one

Never been a fan of the unique Jamaican rum taste. However this bottle is quite nice with some decent sweetness and is very smooth to sip. A bit expensive but at least the bottle looks cool. If ur venturing into Jamaican rums I feel like this is a good place to start.

I bought this 007 edt rum because of the bottle. Probably like 99.9% of the rest of us. Haven’t tried it yet and don’t know if it’s a keeper for the future or if I’ll drink it and just saving the bottle. But when I do I’ll come back and change my review.

Lovely complex aroma of dried exotic fruit, coconut, some cedar wood and a very light hint of sandalwood.
Medium on the tongue and palate unfortunately some alcohol bite.
After taste is spicy, with a short finish.
