Complexity that can only come from a high quality rum. Tobacco and leather. A bit harsh neat. I’d like to enjoy more of this one.

I have enjoyed the entire bottle over several weeks and have strictly compared it to my favorites rums and my initial assessment still holds true: Wow.

The nose is as billed: banana peels, spices, fruit and toffee. On the palate it has a great mouth feel with hints of vanilla and continued mild spices. It has a wonderful crisp finish with no unwanted surprises.

This is a wonderful addition to my stable.

Purchased at Total Wine. Light amber color, light on the tongue with a slight harshness, thin finish with a slight alcohol burn. It is a bit complex but for me not worth buying again.

I did not have huge expectations for their Dark Rum and was I surprised. Neat in the glass smooth cedar and island spices no burn at all. Being a new rum is why I was not expecting the complexity. I did watch the podcast with Marc Farrell and started having higher hopes, as he is very well educated and takes his new business very serious. By all means this is a must buy.

Good neat or mixed into traditional daiquiris or mojitos.

I was expecting a sweeter rum given that it is a blend from the D.R. Jamaica, Trinidad and Barbados (well maybe not the Barbados part of it). But it is not a sweet rum and it is dry as well. No real burn or harshness to it. I can imagine this rum took some effort to put together given the blending and aging (8 years for the D.R. and Barbados portion anyway). Well done. Very good rum but I think punching above it's weight class dollar wise at $50+. That is entering heavyweight territory price for me when this is a middleweight.

It's close to the Real McCoy 12 and other low sugar rums that have a great mix of an interesting nose and solid flavor as a sipper (on ice). The unique-for-rum blend of different country rums adds an interesting angle as you can really taste the Barbados sweet base mixed with the Dominican spice and Jamaican funk. It's worth a try if it isn't a shelf staple. N: fruit and banana peel and light funk, reminiscent of a better, more interesting plantation dark/overproof. T/F: an easy sipper that hits the right in-between spot of not-too-sweet, not-too-boring, a where's waldo of different country profiles. I do agree with an earlier reviewer that $45-50 (2022 prices) is $5-10 more than the quality within... you can find similar quality for slightly less.

This is a good blend. Love the scent. Banana. Dry. Quick finish. No lingering burn.

While this rum has a nice balance of Jamaican and Barbados flavors, it just doesn't justify the price. There are lots of options out there with greater depth of flavor and higher proof, often for less. Not bad but wouldn't buy again.

Very good rum. The white rum is good but this is better.
