I am playing guinea pig again in reviewing rums, since this is the first review for this one. It is not named for the vast wetlands of south Louisiana, but the founder named John Craig Marsh who bought the land near Avery Island in 1818. This is also where the famous Tabasco Sauce comes from.
I cannot tell what comprises this rum and then I read the fine print on the bottom back side of the bottle that says, "Product of The West Indies". For sure , it is not a true rhum agricole and that is all that I would venture to guess. All I know is that this is one damn good white rum! Out of the 33 white rums that I have reviewed on here, this one ranks sixth! At $32 US, it is a bit pricey for a white rum, but one gets what they pay for in most cases. This one is a good buy!
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

This is a good white rum. OK, OK that is like being a good Chineese beer. It just doesn't mean much. Let's sort this out. Want a mixer that is better than Bacardi. You got it. Want a sipper. No way. But, Louisiana has a good white rum here for sure. It would've a much better than average mixer.
