I like this better than both of the Appleton estate 12 & 21 yr rums, but still I find this as a middle of the road rum, not very smooth not very refined. I compared this side-by-side with flor de Cana 18 year and the 18 year was much better.

Rich and dark premium rum. Caramel and brown sugar notes. Little of orange peel and fruity notes. Nice sipping rum with body and complexity.

Full, sweet, nice. More than typical guatemalan, I feel buttery nicaragua. Plantation become one of my favourite labels.

Nice nose of sugar and spices. Taste strong and smooth. Better that guatemala's famous zacapa rum

Great taste, as we know from the plantation rum. The price is low for this rum, and the quality is very Good.

When I first opened the bottle; based on the smell I thought this would be something incredible.
The taste is not bad; it reminds me of a younger version of the XO 20th anniversary plantation. But at $35 dollars a bottle this is a great value and just goes to show a rum doesn't have to be aged for 15 years to be a premium sipping rum.

Tastes quite strong which is expected in a youngish rum , not very sweet but pretty smooth , good value compared to other Guatemalan rums ! A bit too much alcohol bite for me as a sipper , but makes a brilliant rum and good quality cola.

Some of the best rums I've tasted are elaborated by cognac Ferrand's Plantation. Another hit. I simply love this one. Is It the double aging process ?
Probably. It is not the most expensive or aged, but It is great. I must point that the bottle I have says that It is a mix of rums from Guatemala and Belize, wich I'm not sure this rating applies to the same rum.
Subtle, sweet just enough, beautiful color, perfect nose, I love It.

Land: Guatemala
abv: 42%
fles: 70cl

Tasted it recently and compared it to it's brother, the "Barbados 5 years". Both are cheap, tasteful and pleasant sweet rums, but with a slight advantage for the Barbados.
