After reading all the reviews on this rum, I decided to try it. I was disappointed. The rum is thin, in that there's very little mouth feel to it. It presents an alcohol burn on the tongue that's not very pleasant, and the flavor is lacking. It could very well be that I just don't care for this style of rum. My favorite so far is Ron Cartavio XO which is very different. I do like a sweeter rum with more caramel and molasses hints. I'm sure this is a great rum for many people, it's just not my style.

Dry with light notes of vanilla and caramel. Unfortunately, it has a disturbing and intrusive taste of wood that is present from the beginning to end. I've never experienced a similar taste in a rum.

I just picked up a bottle for the first time.
I have been drinking rum for quite some time now but still have middle of the road knowledge.
For me K@S is just meh, I found it was very bland in taste as well as aroma.
Very underwhelming across the board. The best thing about this rum is the very cool bottle.
Don't think I would buy it again.

I wanted to like it more, but did not. On par with the Botran Reserva. No enjoyable aftertaste. Not a bad one. Just not a good one. Meh.

Am I drinking the same rum that everyone else is rating here? Virtually no sweetness, just a spiciness and too much bitterness which I assume is the charred oak. The finish is short and bitter. Luckily I caught this on sale for cheap. Hey, I really wanted to like this but it is what it is.

I've got batch 23, and I have to say I am confused by all the good reviews. The nose is light, soft and lacks much in the way of character. Sure it is smooth, but there is very little taste. It is so lite that am thinking this would only be used as an.entry point for beginners, and certainly not for a serious sipper.
Certainly not worth th 80 dollars it cost in canada. Maybe 30 or 40, and dont bother mixing unless you prefer not to change the taste of.your coke. The taste is so thin it would absolutely disappear with mix.
I am told the older versions are a vast improvement.

Bought this to try as my usual 12 year Flor de Cana was out of stock.
I'm far from being an expert, but I don't really think it's that good at all, even as a mixer. It tastes like so many other bog standard rums from the local off-licence and isn't very smooth. All the fake tat on the bottle trying to make it look like something that fell off the back of a salvaged schooner is just naff. I can only think that many of the reviews on here are possibly fake.

Pleasant taste but oak dominates the profile too much in my opinion. Hard to get a feel for the original distillate.

There is to much burn and not good flavour, it very basic. Would not recommend
