The El Ron del Artesano is a single Cask Rum which was stored in bourbon barrels for 8 years and then got its finish in Recioto sweet wine barrels for about 30 months. The rum comes from Panama and the second storage was in Germany. This rum is bottled with 41.1% drinking strength to 0.7l in 532 bottles. No additives have been added. The bottle comes in a simple design and all important key data such as bottle and barrel number are shown on the label.

The nose of the Recioto Finish wonderful. Very fruity notes of berries make in an experience and it is worth exploring the rum extensively with the nose. When drinking, complex sweet fruity notes of red berries, some mocca and a nice woody barrel note are playing together. The well-balanced sharpness is a reminder that it is not a sweet rum, but that it is lively angular and offers its own character. The finish is long-lasting and characterized by woody barrel notes, which clearly signal that the rum wants to be remembered.

For me, the El Ron del Artesano brings everything I expect from a rum. The Recioto Finish is absolutely successful and the handcrafted rum is a statement for the craft of rum production. For friends of dry rum, it is a must as it does not require additives and is still full-bodied and lively. He convinced me very much. Clear purchase recommendation, especially since it is strictly limited. If you like it stronger, warmer and more intense, try the barrel strength version of the Recioto Cask.
