i initially used this to make some homemade Falurnum. It did not turn out as planned, but I then tried it with Cola, but was not that enamoured with it! It is definitely over proof, but the taste was hard to get past! May try this again, but I have too many good dark rums to sample!

A way to up the ante on your funk! It brings a good amount of very distinctive funk without being overwhelming (add 1/2oz, no more). Having said that, it could use a few more types of esther for a more rounded hogo experience. A good mixer but it is not really for sipping.

This is a solid addition to an original Mai Tai since a bottle of genuine 17-year Wray and Nephew is around 20 thousand last I checked!

... but not bad to mix with. Another review mentioned 'green bananas'. I agree.

Hey, all things are relative! If you've picked this up after previously buying Bicardi, this is going to blow your mind. Fire, brimstone, lemon and that weird ass funk, that even diluted in a cocktail, you're sure not going to miss. I mean this is Notting Hill Carnival in a glass.

But if you're coming from the land of pot still madness - clairin, Rum-Bar, Rum Fire, Rivers Royale - or blanc agricole, this is very manageable, and possibly a little tame, but hey, it's Β£26 rather than Β£53!

In all honesty, this is a little industrial, if way more flavourful than the same distillery's Kingston 62. A little oily, fragrant with citrus, dry with cane coming out along the way ,you can drink this straight if that's your thing. In a cocktail however, it adds depth and a kick to a Hurricane. The smell is subtle por still, the flavour, depths of sugar, and a bit of that chemistry lab weird vibe people seem to either live or hate.

I was looking for a cut price clairin to bring the funk to cocktails, and I think this will hit the spot. Mixing this 50/50 with Copalli really lifts both, bringing balance, power and flavour all to the mix. I totally get why bars keep this to hand, and also why it's Jamaica's No.1.

this stuff is used all over Jamaica for everything from cleaners to mixed drink, even as a headache remedy ( just rub it on your head.).

Aye, it took a few whiffs to get past the overwhelming smell alcohol, but once I got there, I found a bit of fruit, a bit of oak, a bit of sweet, and a bit of spice. Powerful smell. Avast! I can smell colors now! She smells like she be sweet on the tongue, but no. Not at first. This wench be complex when it comes to taste, and it takes more than one sip to find anythin'. Spices first, then burned sugar, then banana and fruits, then just as she starts getting sweet and friendly, she leaves with all your loot and nothin' but the taste of iodine in your mouth and an burn that never lets go. Just like me ex-wife. Aye, you could spend time sippin' this, and after a few, you probably wouldn't care, but I wouldn't recommend it. Nobody has that much loot. arrgh!!!

Use this with my Moose Milk (rums, egg nog, ice cream, spices mixture) for a Military Levee on Jan 1st every year.

Working from a leftover bottle brought to a party by a guest who presumably dumped the W&N and drank something else, I constructed a batch of passion fruit daiquiris for a family gathering. I was, however, the only person able and willing to get past the first sip as the predominant taste and spiky nature of the drink was all about the overproof rum. When passion fruit liqueur can be obliterated you know the other component is industrial strength fluid.
Not to be daunted I tried again with Coke as a mixer. Simpler and better but only consumable in a bind.

I use this as the rum ingredient in my homemade falernum. It is adequate, as it doesn't contribute much for flavor, so my recipe shines through.
