I'm not crazy about it, and would probably have to dilute it to unrecognisable in order to enjoy it. Gave it a 6 out of respect for the alcohol content though.

I use this rum to soak my rum spices with. I have a rum spice bottle that is for medicinal use. This is the rum to use when making your own spice bottle. Very strong, but always taste better as the night goes on!!!

I keep on hearing how Jamaican rums have a funk (In a good way). I could never really describe them as funky even though it was always in the background. This rum is different in that's because it hits you in the face with a wall of funk you don't expect from a white rum.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind 'funk' (some of my favourite brandies could be called funky), but I find this to be just a little bit over the top for me.

Still this is an excellent mixing rum for when an over-proof is called for.

Nose: Hold it closed (Very pungent).
Body: A little oily.
Taste: A little sweet but not much. Your not using this for the taste anyway.

I'm a little bit disappointed by this rum. Compared to other white Jamaican overproof rums that I've tried, this one has much less hogo. It does have some hogo, which is still appreciable if mixed with just a little juice, like, say, grapefruit juice. But it can't stand against other strong ingredients in long drinks; there the funk practically disappears.

When you need a swift kick in the pants and still retain decent rum flavoring.

This has character, this has that serious overproof punch about it and with some ice or with a mixer its one that should always be around.

I had this on spring break in Jamaica a number of years ago. This was practically all they mixed in our drinks along with Cruzan and it did its duty well. It has a distinct island perfume and taste that is distinct and different from anything you will have in the states. "Respect Maan!"

Too be taken with care. A very pleasant white mixing rum but approach with caution

If you don’t know what funk is, you are in the right place. I didn’t know whether to rate this 9 or 2. Funky flavor. Acquired taste. This is not your Bacardi silver. It’s the opposite white rum
