Nice taste, not too much alcohol aftertaste. Beautiful amber colour. Really liked it.

This is really excellent. Lovely fruit. Some citrus and a spicy apple peel flavor. Has a terrific linger and tingle which makes it feel like a higher proof. The nose is pretty simple for me, just straight roasted caramel and some light barrel. On the tongue is similar. It's not some 23 layer hard to explain rum. Tastes like experts wanted to blend a good rum. I don't get any over arching distinct fruit, and no one thing jumps out but the overall impression is one of very very light citrus and a little clove. This is a very fine rum.

Nice and light aromas on the nose. Dry and lightly sweet on the tongue. Smooth finish with minimal burn. Definitely a nice sipper thatโ€™s full of flavor and easy to drink.

Picked at total wine in cherry hill NJ. I am a fan our Foursquare distillery. and this rum has a kind of unique heritage being from Mauritius and Barbados. Alcohol content is at 43% and I could feel the little extra burn in the taste. It is pretty dry and balanced considering the 43% alcohol but for close to 50$ I will not buy again. Ii much prefer plantation XO or el pasador Debora oro reserve in this price range. As a matter of fact the real McCoy 5 year is much better for 20$ less.

Sugar estimated at 5 GPL. This is another fairly dry Mauritian rum that has been enhanced by the use of cognac and bourbon barrels. Overall it's still got that vegetal flavour that I find with the Mauritian rums, but it's better than any other rum from Mauritius that I have tasted. This is a bit overproof and that shows through in the taste and burn. It's spicy and has a taste of sweetness and would be best served over ice. Straight up I found it to have a whiskey taste but the cognac is also present. Bit of caramel and a fair amount of oak. It's not a bad rum and is a
Solid 7, but for $87 CDN, it's overpriced.

Blend of Mauritius and Barbados rums, fruity, hints of spiciness, bold, smooth, well balanced, not overly sweet, overall a very nice sipping rum

Thats a truly fabulous rum. Richard Seale and Ian Burrell made an incredible rum. So smooth and so natural, also its big advantage is connecting the rum selling with philanthropy.
Nose:
toffee, butterscotch, raisins, ripe fruits
Palate:
Toffe, caramel, raisins, dark ripe fruits, oak, zesty piquantness, orange peels,
Finish: Medium

A true masterpiece when it comes to natural rums. Cant go wrong with Richard Sealeโ€™s rums.
If you find it, buy it, cheers ;)

first time i try a rum blend from totally different zones, nose gentle rum, not much alcoholic burn, some sweet aroma that tell me it s a rum ! half from the penny blue producer and half from foursquare distillery ...
in the mouth: sweet (natural sweetness, is not cloying), oak and vanilla, orange peel, some banana and pineapple, really sweet rum (for a non added sugar rum), fruity, the oak is not so predominant ...
finish, warm, sweet, it stays medium-long in the mouth ... it s balanced, half matured in ex cognac barrels that gives that winey taste and half in ex bourbon casks that give us the vanilla flavor, plus a lot of fruits and it have a decent ABV (43 %)
price good, considered is a 8 to 10 years old and half of the rum is transported from the other side of the world is cheap for what it gives ...
my rating here is an 8 plus 0,5 for the price, so i will give it a 9 ! i was not expecting something exceptional but it is better than many rums i tried that have 12 or 20 on the label ... a solid one that i will for sure buy again before it s gone !
i recommend this one to people that love sweetened rums because it have a good level of natural sweetness ...

A molasses rum that comes from 2 continents (Caribbean and Africa). The rums from Mauritius were aged in cognac barrels and the rums from Barbados in bourbon barrels. The blend is aged for 8 - 10 years and the resulting blend is bottled at 43% ABV strength.

Bottle: Unconventional, but quite nice.
Color: Dark amber.

Nose: Wonderfully fruity and woody. It is quite intense and long-lasting. It has tropical fruit juice (unripe bananas and oranges), raisins, vanilla, caramel, grass, raw oak.
Mouth: Slightly sweet with a slight bite on the tongue. But the predominant flavour is dry. I smelled caramel, wood, banana, oranges, bitter cocoa.
Aftertaste: Quite long.

Conclusion: This is a very good lightly sweet and dry rum that is quite varied in both aroma and taste. This combination of rums was really good and I enjoyed it.
Rating: 8/10

A solid rum, good flavours with reasonable length Iโ€™d buy again but only on special

I'm always weary of spirits finished in sherry, bourbon, or cognac casks. Its a great tool for hiding bland or bad flavors in alcohol.

On the whole, I don't mind this rum blend. Good on ice, or as an old fashioned. Fruity and spicy.
