Nice taste, not too much alcohol aftertaste. Beautiful amber colour. Really liked it.

Tastes to me like a smoother, slightly sweeter Doorly's XO.
Well rounded, bit of a tingle on the tongue, some dark brown sugar..
Perhaps a bit simple, but easy drinking.

I can taste the cask influence, particularly on the finish. A mild bourbon note, though it still tastes very much of rum.

I hear conflicting reports as to whether the Mauritius component is agricole or not. Either way, I can't taste it if there is

I just wonder whether the Mauritian and Bajan rums wouldn't be better by themselves rather than blended.

But what there is, is very pleasant. An intense sweetness (natural) married with soft oak, and a nice touch from the Cognac casks. Smooth and with a medium-long finish. It's a very good rum, but as I said, separately they might be better or at least, more interesting. Ultimately I have a fair few 8yo-14yo Barbados rums so that's nothing new. But I have far few Mauritian rums, and a 10yo would be more interesting to me than this blend.

Good overall, but not my favorite. A bit one note. Some smoke.

Glad I managed to find this bottle of something different. Would of liked to find more of the cognac barrels influence than the bourbon ones , but that's just personal taste. Not quite a sipper for me , had a strange aftertaste that I couldn't get past. Doesn't really mix well either..
Just a one off bottle for me..

This rum is exceptional as you really can taste the two different rums its based on, Barbados and Mauritius. A very well balanced rum with a nice and very "public" flavour profile. Perfect also for those who havent tried many rums and want to explore something outside of the big brands.
